He mentioned an auxiliary battery they are thinking of selling as an add on. It’s an interesting idea (only bring it with you when you think you might need it) but I don’t know how practical it would be since any extra battery with any useful range is going to be really heavy. Thinking outside the box, they could formulate the auxiliary battery with incredibly high gravimetric density if only lasted, say, 10 uses (a truly use only if you need it scenario), but not sure the cost to the end user and R&D cost would be worth it.

Towing spec, RJ estimates you’d halve your range when towing the full rated 11,000 pounds, depending on how aerodynamic the load is. Based on my Model X experience, that’s about right.

Wow, says the truck will have a special autonomy feature such that you can drive to the top of a mountain, and then it’ll drive itself back down. Awesome for mountain biking!

Will also have a guided park tour feature where it drives itself through a national park, while giving you an audio guided tour. Ok, that one’s more achievable, and pretty cool.

He says they’ll demo these features this year sometime.
